Gather students in a circle. This is a game that passes energy around the circle. The first student swings their arm in front of them while crooked and says "Yee-haw!" to pass the energy to the person to their other side. The next person passes the energy in the same way. If someone wants to change the direction of the energy they say "Hoe down" and pull down their fist like they are pulling arm down in a fist pump. Saying "Barn Dance" involves every student safely finding a new spot in the circle, they do this by galloping like a horse.
Describe: What was it like to participate?
Analyze: How did you strategize in order to play successfully?
"Gear box" Everyone runs in to the center of the circle, sticks an arm in and says 1234! together.
"Hay Barn" Player put hands up in the shape of a house. The makes the "energy/motion" skips the person next to them in the direction the motion is going.
"Rattlesnake" Everyone jumps, one at a time, all the way around the circle. In the same order that the motion is going. Then the player after the "Rattlesnake" caller resumes the pattern.
"Gunslinger" The player makes the motion of pulling a gun from a holster and sends the motion across the circle (a la "Zap" in "Whoosh, Whoa, Zap")
