Name Game

Space
Directions

Gather group in a comfortable circle. The teacher begins with the phrase: “My name is ______ & I’m going to________ with a _________.” The name of the place and object being taken along should start with the same letter as the person’s name (i.e. “My name is Michelle and I’m going to Montana with a Monkey”). The person to the right of the leader repeats this and then adds their name, introducing both the leader & the speaker. Continue in this manner until everyone in the circle has a turn. The teacher then finishes the game by introducing everyone.

Reflection

Describe: What seemed to help us remember others' choices?

Analyze: What did we learn about one another in this activity?

Relate: What can we say about how our memories work? Why is it important to know each others names?

Possible Side-Coaching

“Take a moment before we start to think of a place and object.”

“How can we help each other recall names, places, & objects?”
