Test Review & Test Prep Strategies

Directions

Cover the Space

1. Students cover the space, making eye contact with students as they pass

2.  Students make a small group of four or five students.

3. If you’d like, students can cover the space and make small groups several more times so that students end up with students they don’t usually work with.

4. Pose a question, and let students reflect in small groups.

5. One group shares out.

6.  Another group rephrases the first group’s answer and adds additional information.

7. Teacher shows what this kind of question looks like on a test.

8. Students work in groups to think about which test answer matches the class’ previous reflection, and why the other answers do not.

9.  Groups share out.

10. Repeat the routine.
